Eating my way through the Summer of Heroes (II)
So I went back for more... and it was worth it!
Disneyland will always be great, no matter the crowds, no matter the overpriced food and distance from home. I went a full day during my vacation this past week. I have had an annual pass for the last 10 years, and going for a full day is a huge thing for me. So I was on a mission to enjoy myself, spoil myself and wear myself out! I can happily say I was able to accomplish my goal! Even though my phone died (I'll tell you about that in another post about my vacation, this one is about the food).
On my third trip through the foods of the Summer of Heroes, I tried the Shave Ice, the Groot Bread, got a complimentary Hero Face paint and rode the Guardians Ride again. Love that ride!
The Groot Bread is HUGE!!! It was bigger than my face and I have a big head. It was good, but I should have read the description better. I expected it to be cheese and jalapeno filled, like the Mickey Pretzels which I love! But it was good, had a few bites in the lines I waited then took it home to share with the fam. It was a 7/10.
The Shave Ice was amazing!!! It was only $5.00 which is a bargain for the yumminess. It was so hot when I was at the park so this was very refreshing. The one I chose was called Spinal Fluid and it was banana and mango with chili powder on top. I am not a fan of bananas mixed with other fruit, IDK why, sorry. Lol. So I asked them to change it to strawberry and mango and it was perfection. It was some bloody spinal fluid. You have the option of adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream, but I opted out. At this on the walk to Grizzly River Run and I kinda wanted to go back for another. Okay enough, lol I give this a 10/10.
Didn't have too many items because I went to dinner at Carthay Circle and had a big breakfast at Carnation Cafe but everything was great!
If you haven't gotten the chance to try these, and you have an annual pass, make some time before they are gone.
